Faith Herbert was an ordinary girl until the day her parents died in a tragic car accident. Her inheritance included her parents’ vast comic book collection, which both comforted her and provided her with role models that shaped her view of the world.
Faith is a huge comic book fan and an expert in science fiction and general pop culture; she particularly loves everything involving time travel and heroines that get the man of their dreams.
The Harbinger Foundation approached Faith when she was a teenager and revealed that she possessed psiot abilities. Enticed by the chance to become a real-life superhero, she agreed to endure an agonizing operation with low success rate to activate her latent powers. Fortunately, Peter Stanchek — one of the few recorded psiots born active and only known psiot able of activating others — activated her powers.
When Peter discovered that Toyo Harada – the founder and CEO of the Harbinger Foundation – ordered the murder of his best friend, he confronted the billionaire and in the fight, Harada threw him out a window. Luckily, Faith used her newly-manifested abilities to save him. Alongside Kris Hathaway, Charlene Dupre (Flamingo), and John Torkelson (Torque) — two latent psiots Peter activated — they formed the Harbinger Renegades to expose Harada.
The fight took them right to the Harbinger Wars initiated when Bloodshot freed Generation Zero — psiot children kidnapped by the Harbinger Foundation and forced to become its soldiers. An attack on the Foundation’s building ended with Peter grievously injured and Flamingo losing her life saving Faith.
After the Renegades disbanded Faith moved to Los Angeles and found work at Zipline, an entertainment website, writing articles under the pen name of “Summer Smith”. Her co-workers eventually learned her real identity after the Vine attacked the Zipline offices.
Shortly before this, Faith and Obadiah Archer met at Aric’s wedding with Saana, and the two eventually became romantically involved. Their first official outing was at a west coast FanCon where they became entangled in an incident caused by Murder Mouse, a thief trading with magical objects.
Soon after Murder Mouse joined Faith’s other archenemies (Chris Chriswell, formerly America’s favorite superhero actor, now a criminal mastermind, Dark Star, a super evil psiot entity trapped in the body of a cat, and Sidney Pierce, a Vine planting disguised as a celebrity), to form the Faithless.
When the Faithless framed Faith for murder, she stopped her superhero activities and kept a low profile, except for an incident in Washington, D.C. on Valentine’s Day, after which she and Archer broke up and went their separate ways.
Sometime later, she made a deal with Brigadier General Jamie Capshaw to use G.A.T.E.’s resources to catch all the Faithless and deliver them to the authorities to clear her name.

OTHER DETAILS: Faith prefers the codename Zephyr, but can’t make it to catch on.
